Oh dear, Zooey. Part of me wants to believe this is just brilliantly tongue in cheek and that you’re playing up the Manic Pixie Dream Girl thing for all its worth to show you’re in on the joke.
Then part of me believes that creepy dead look in your eyes is really how you look these days… married life with Ben can’t be that bad, can it? He seems like an okay dude.
In either case, the song is pretty epic, and M. Ward’s guitar noodling at the end is wonderful. Can’t wait to make my next Merge purchase in two weeks :)
